Fashion Week: New York stocks up on the latest

American fashion will present its spring-summer 2013 collections from September 6 to 14 as part of the Mercedes Benz Fashion Week. This season will see several of the regular brands and designers that often present their collections at international fashion weeks. Such as Brazilian Osklen, which will present its collection at the Lincoln Center, the same one it debuted in Sao Paulo earlier this June.

Pierre Balmain, Balmain's young line, chose New York but only on the web

The Y-3 label celebrated 10 years of collaboration between Yohji Yamamoto and Adidas at the Paris show in January and will repeat the party in Manhattan September 9 with a big anniversary runway show. After Balstaff's preview of its men's collection for spring-summer 2013 at “London Collections: Men,” the brand is now opening a flagship on Madison Avenue where it will stage its show September 10. The move follows the likes of MM6, the contemporary line of Margiela, which also just opened its first store in Manhattan.

In the middle of what is always a very full program, three brands not yet seen anywhere are stand-outs for the innovative way they are showing their collections. The See line by Chloe, Pierre Balmain and ICB by Prabal Gurung will each hold their shows on the Internet September 7, 10 and 11. The clothes will be filmed in advance and interviews with designers pre-recorded. New York agency KCD Digital was encouraged by the launch of its "digital shows" last season and may export the model to other customers in the future.
