Farfetch Dream Assembly goes digital as fourth programme gets under way

Farfetch has announced the eight fashion-tech startups that will take part in its seven-week Dream Assembly accelerator programme.

The fourth cohort of start-ups features innovations from the US, UK, Germany, Czech Republic and the Netherlands, joining the first Dream Assembly programme to run in its entirety with a fully digital schedule.

The shift to digital comes amid the global coronavirus crisis, which has claimed the lives of more than 200,000 people worldwide since the start of the outbreak in December last year.

The eight tech-focused companies will receive mentorship, networking opportunities and support to further develop their platforms. Selected from 155 applications from around the world, they include Cerebra, FavourUp, Ivapparel, M-XR, Newlife, StyleScript, Supply Compass and Whoqip.

David Grunwald, VP of innovation at Farfetch, said: “The program will be executed digitally for the first time, but it's still set to to be an incredible seven weeks, where this cohort of companies can access mentorship and an array of masterclasses. These companies all have business models focused on the digitisation of commerce across various industries, which will be more relevant than ever now, and for a post-Covid world.”

In addition to masterclasses, the seven-week programme will offer one-to-one sessions with senior leaders from Farfetch and partners on a range of topics across luxury fashion, marketing, technology and operations.

Companies will also have the opportunity to network with leading investors and luxury brands.

More than 60 start-ups have taken part in the programme since its launch in April 2018.

The latest line-up includes a decentralised social network designed to aggregate cultural innovators (Newlife), a connected store solution that helps retailers connect with customers in-real time to reduce waiting times (Whoqip), and a product development and production management platform for sustainable sourcing (Supply Compass).
