Estée Lauder names Barbara De Laere the SVP/GM of Aveda North America

Estée Lauder announced on Friday the appointment of Barbara De Laere to Senior Vice President/General Manager of Aveda North America. She assumed the role on December 1, 2016.



 
As SVP/GM of Aveda North America, De Laere is responsible for the brand’s growth in North America and the brand’s retail channels, online and omnichannel in North America. She also leads a team of executives to execute the brand’s go-to-market strategy, and leads digital marketing and social media strategies in North America.
 
In addition, De Laere reports to directly to Thia Breen, Group President, North America, with a matrix reporting line to Dominique Conseil, Global Brand President, Aveda.

Prior to joining Estée Lauder, De Laere worked at L’Oréal most recently serving as GM and EVP, Asia Pacific – Professional Products Division in Shanghai. During her 16-year tenure with the company, De Laere held various senior leadership and general management roles in the Netherlands, France, Germany, and the US, and was responsible for managing the brand identities, go-to-market strategies and revenue growth of several well-known hair care brands.
