June 9 - Thai polyester producer Indorama Ventures Public Company Limited IVL.BK and Italian peer Sinterama SpA won EU approval on Thursday to buy German textile product supplier Trevira GmbH.

The European Commission, the EU competition watchdog, said in a statement the deal would not damage competition in the European Economic Area.

"The Commission found that the market shares of these companies remain modest and they will continue to face significant competitors on these markets," it said.
