Amélie Gillier

Amélie Gillier has left her position as creative director at French brand Comptoir des Cotonniers, after less than a year at the company. A spokesperson for Fast Retailing, the brand’s parent-group, confirmed the decision on Thursday.

Gillier joined the brand in the newly-created position in order to strengthen the label’s design team, working closely with then-design director Delphine Ninous. Ninous has since left to joing Paul & Joe.

Comptoir des Cotonniers had brought in Gillier - who spent 12 years at the design helm of Zadig & Voltaire - to help toughen up the brand’s image.

The news of the departure comes just several weeks after the company announced the appointment of its new CEO at Comptoir des Cotonniers and Princesse Tam.Tam. Nancy Pedot was chief executive officer, replacing Elisabeth Cunin who left to take the reins at
Camaïeu in September.
