Two years after merging with Asia-based event organiser K2, the Karla Otto agency has reshuffled its senior management. German PR expert Karla Otto, who in 1982 founded the eponymous communication agency of which she was the CEO, is now the group's president, while Isabelle Chouvet, co-founder of K2, has been appointed co-CEO alongside Alexander Werz, long-time executive director and Karla Otto’s right-hand man.

The appointments have been announced by the group, confirming the news published by FashionNetwork.com at the beginning of August.

Karla Otto joined forces with K2 in September 2017, setting up a holding company called The Independents. At the end of 2018, the new organisation inked a partnership deal with The Qode, a Dubai-based communication agency specialised in the luxury sector.

Isabelle Chouvet maintains her position as CEO of The Independents. Alexander Werz, formerly a partner of event organiser OBO, has notably driven the international expansion of the Karla Otto agency during the last nine years.

Over time, the group has built up a portfolio of prestigious clients, including Berluti, Jil Sander, Marni, Rochas and Victor & Rolf.

Karla Otto’s goal is to “strengthen its management team to accelerate and further amplify the group’s synergies and strategic initiatives,” stated the group in a press release.

“As president, I’m extremely excited to be able to focus on, and lead, new worldwide strategic initiatives for the company, while entrusting Isabelle and Alexander with the mission of steering Karla Otto towards new horizons,” said Karla Otto.

The group's goal is to become a major provider to the fashion, luxury, beauty and art-of-living industries, offering a range of comprehensive services in the areas of communication, consultancy, event organisation, digital tools and marketing.
