Columbia names David Lawner Interim SVP of North America & EMEA Retail

Columbia Sportswear on Monday announced that David Lawner has been appointed as Interim Senior Vice President of North America and EMEA Retail, effective October 10, 2016. The company will conduct a global search to replace Shawn Cox, the previous SVP of Retail.

Lawner heads to Columbia from Nautica where he served as President, Retail and ecommerce from 2011 to March 2016. At Nautica, he led all aspects of the company’s US direct-to-consumer business, which includes 87 factory outlets and ecommerce.
 
Prior to Nautica, Lawner built successful retail platforms at Tommy Hilfiger, Ann Taylor, Gap, Carter’s, Bob’s Stores and Children’s Place. As Interim SVP of North America and EMEA Retail, Lawner will report to President & COO Bryan Timm.

Cox, who is parting ways with Columbia after 3 years, held executive positions at Liz Claiborne, Samsonite, and Tommy Hilfiger. He also worked at Mulberry and Ralph Lauren in merchandising and brand manager roles.
