Cole Haan and Rodarte join forces for first collaborative collection

Published

Independent fashion house Rodarte debuted its first-ever collection for Cole Haan this month, launching the first part of a new collaborative line of women's footwear and handbags, dubbed 'Grand Ambition'.

The first collection of the collaboration dropped earlier this month with pumps, booties, shoeties, slip-on sneakers, satchels and circle Bags in the signature aesthetic of Laura and Kate Mulleavy, the Californian sisters behind Rodarte.

Priced from $190-$240 for footwear, and $248-$398 for handbags, the collection incorporates pops of red, bubblegum pink, optic white and black colorways, in addition to embossed croc leather, neoprene and lace detailing.

"We wanted to collaborate with Cole Haan because they are such an innovative company that really values the same things we do in terms of design and pushing the boundaries of what is expected in the landscape of fashion. We were really impressed by the level of innovation that Cole Haan infuses into their product in order to deliver unparalleled comfort," said Laura Mulleavy.

The September collection will be followed by a November line that features a romantic and soft color palette applied to Cole Haan's 'Grand Ambition' bootie, lace-up sneaker, circle bag and bucket bag styles.

Items are also embellished with perforated hearts or playful bows, as seen with the bucket bags. Likewise, items are meant to be comfortable with shoes utilizing Cole Haan's 'Grandfoam' technology, and handbags providing functionality.

"When Cole Haan set out to create this revolutionary women's collection, we knew we had to partner with Rodarte. Kate and Laura's independent spirit is singular in the world of fashion. In their capable hands, Cole Haan and Rodarte, together, have delivered an alchemy that blends beauty and engineering in a way that hasn't been achieved before," added Cole Haan's Chief Marketing Officer & GM of Business Development, David Maddocks.

The capsule collection is now available on ColeHaan.com and across U.S and select international Cole Haan stores, with additional styles launching in November.
