Coach opens its first flagship store in Paris

Published

Coach's first flagship store in France quietly opened to the public during Paris Fashion Week, while the formal inauguration is planned for 19th November. The store adjoins Alexander McQueen's flagship and is located at 372-374 rue Saint-Honoré, on premises that were formerly occupied by Hugo Boss.

Coach sets up shop in rue Saint-Honoré, Paris

The store's interior decoration was supervised by creative director Stuart Vevers, working with interior designer William Sofield and his New York agency Studio Sofield. It extends over an area of 600 m² on two levels.

Warm lighting, thick carpets, wooden furniture... the store goes for a New York vibe, with glass block walls typical of American buildings, and a floor that resembles the tiling of the Big Apple's subway, while a huge stairway invites shoppers to explore the heart of the shop.

The Coach Paris store repositions the brand in the luxury segment.

The opening is part of the brand's repositioning plan within the luxury segment, notably in its domestic market in the USA.

As Stuart Vevers explained in a press release, "This is the first European store to feature the most comprehensive and directional contemporary luxury interiors. I think this illustrates the energy attached to Coach's new image."

A mahogany and blackened steel stairway takes pride of place at the heart of Coach's Parisian store.

The flagship store hosts all of Coach's men's and women's collections, including ready-to-wear apparel, footwear, sunglasses, costume jewellery and watches. Since the opening coincides with the brand's 75th anniversary, a special anniversary collection of limited edition bags for men and women will also be available from November.
