Chanel on Thursday launched a new beauty collection — Tweed Les 4 Ombres — in a Harrods exclusive. And it’s also interesting that it marks the first time Chanel Beauty has teamed up with the fashion arm for a collection. In this case, Chanel-owned Maison Lesage has crafted the tweed pouches in which the products are packaged.

The fashion link clearly comes to the fore in the collection’s name too, with the Tweed theme added to the Les 4 Ombres moniker, clearly referencing the fabric for which Chanel is known.

Les 4 Ombres has been a make-up staple of the house since 1982 and its popularity makes it a strong candidate for seasonal limited editions.

For this one, the texture have also been given the Tweed treatment with the Chanel Makeup Creation Studio creating a tweed pattern embossed on the surface of each shade.

The company said the four-colour harmonies “capture the creative worth of the fabric. Just as different fibres are intertwined to form tweed, the shades can be blended, and their intensity varied, to achieve chic and bold makeup results. The eyeshadows are as effortless to apply as a tweed garment is to wear”.

The four colourways are Tweed Brun et Rose, Tweed Cuivré, Tweed Pourpre and Tweed Fauve.

Each one retails for £67 from Harrods or Chanel.com.
