For By Malene Birger, it’s the final phase of a "transfer of power" following the departure of its founder, Malene Birger, earlier this year. The Danish footwear brand has officially named Christina Exsteen its new creative director. 

Having already worked at the brand’s studio for several years now, she was chosen in early 2014 to succeed Birger following a transitional period. She was initially appointed head of ready-to-wear. With her new title, Exsteen will take on more strategic responsibilities in terms of the IC Companys-owned brand’s overall style.

By Malene Birger also announced on December 1 the appointment of Andrea Molander as designer of accessories. For the last two years, she has been in charge of accessories at Zara. Previously, she also worked for Gucci, Bally and Prada.
