Birkenstock and Valentino release second collaboration

Birkenstock and Valentino have teamed up to give the German brand’s signature Arizona sandal another high fashion makeover.

Valentino's creative director Pierpaolo Piccioli has given the Arizona sandal a new look - Michael Ullrich/Markus Ebner

Building on their first creative collaboration, unveiled at Valentino’s Paris runway show in January 2019, the pair have reworked the Arizona sandal with a new oversized camouflage look.

The latest iteration of the famous sandal comes in three contrasting patterns in military green, bright yellow and grey, and features a black leather covered footbed with tonal buckles.

Birkenstock said the second drop is a natural continuation of their first collaboration, which resulted in the Arizona sandal being transformed into two exclusive styles, one in Valentino Garavani red with tonal buckles and one in total black.

In line with the first release, Valentino’s VLTN logo is prominently displayed on the side of the new style.

The new limited-edition shoe launches on 1774.com, Valentino.com and in Valentino stores worldwide on September 3.
