Attendance to ISPO Beijing jumps 29%

Messe München and sport goods players in general enjoyed an undoubted success in China. The company that organises ISPO, the Munich show dedicated to sporting equipment and apparel, has recently celebrated the twelfth edition of ISPO Beijing, held from 24th to 27th February. The event welcomed 38,600 visitors in total, 29% more than in 2015.

The same trend was observed in terms of exhibitors, with 490 participants (representing 700 brands) compared to 434 a year earlier. It must also be said that Beijing and its neighbouring area will host the 2022 Winter Olympics: enough there to energise an entire industry.  

As well as skiing and running, Messe München is looking to expand the practice of trail running and freeskiing in the country. 

ISPO Beijing 2017 will be held from 15th to 18th February. Messe München also launched the show's summer counterpart in Shanghai, whose second edition is scheduled from 6th to 8th July 2016.
