Asics EMEA sees strong growth in 2021

Published
Feb 11, 2022

Asics EMEA is bouncing back from the pandemic year and said that its consolidated net revenues rose 13.7% in 2021. Meanwhile operating income rose 121.8% to €83.1 million and it saw profitable growth across all categories and all channels. It didn’t give a monetary figure for revenues.

In wholesale channels, it reported year on year growth of 13% with significant increases in Italy (27%), Iberia (24%), Germany (19%), South Africa (18%) and France (16%).

And it continued to see growth in e-commerce, with revenues increasing 16% versus 2020.

Asics said it remains Europe’s leading running and tennis brand (based on NPD data). Its strength in running was boosted by the “record-breaking innovation” last year when it launched Metaspeed running shoes “scientifically designed to support athletes to reach their personal best”.

Regional CEO Carsten Unbehaun said the EMEA division faced significant challenges” but “ended the year stronger than ever. We continue to see more people choosing our brand to help them achieve a sound mind in a sound body. And we continue to innovate to support more people to enjoy the benefits of sport and movement, not just on the body, but also on the mind”.
