Asda streams feed from clothing factories online

British supermarket chain Asda has put cameras inside its clothing factories in Bangladesh in order to reassure its customers of working conditions there.

This initiative follows surveys conducted last year which indicated that consumers want more insight into the functioning of the business. It should also be noted that in recent years multiple reports of poor working conditions in the production of goods for mass consumption in Britain have been seen.

In 2008, three Primark factories were accused of using child labour. Just before this allegation was made, British reporters revealed a similar affair in Tesco factories in Bangladesh. Scandals such as these have forced large stores into taking step to regain shoppers’ trust regarding overseas working conditions in factories.
