American designer Marcia Patmos, creator of the M.Patmos fashion brand, has won the Woolmark Prize dedicated to women's collections.

She receives a 100,000 Australian dollar prize (US$76k/£52k) and the opportunity to sell her creations via a capsule collection stocked at partner retailers of the Woolmark Prize, such as Harvey Nichols Harvey Nichols, Colette, Isetan, Saks Fifth Avenue and MyTheresa.

The jury was comprised of Victoria Beckham, Carla Sozzani (10 Corso Como), Colleen Sherin (Saks Fifth Avenue), Anita Barr (Harvey Nichols), Sophie Clark (David Jones), Franca Sozzani (Vogue Italia), Angelica Cheung (Vogue China), Justin O’Shea (MyTheresa) and Colin McDowell (Sunday Times).

In January, the very first Menswear International Woolmark Prize was awarded to Dao-Yi Chow and Maxwell Osborne, the designers of the New York brand Public School. The award was presented during London Fashion Week by a jury that notably included Paul Smith.
