All six shows that make up the Première Vision Pluriel trade fair posted higher attendance for the edition held September 17–19. Some 62,932 visitors traveled to the exhibition grounds north of Paris in Villepinte, an increase of 3.6% compared to September 2012.

The exhibition for mills and knitwear, Première Vision, and the show for yarns and fibers, Expofil, together drew 52,804 industry professionals, an increase of 14%. The organizer says such results are exceptional and points out that 19,000 visitors walked the show aisles from the first day.

In terms of International attendance, the show reportedly drew 15% more buyers from Europe, compared to September 2012. Italy rose a whole 41%, the top position among European attendees, followed by Spain (+16%) and Portugal (+27%). Outside Europe, the organizer said there was an 8% decrease for Brazil, following its spike last year, while China has again upped its presence by 21%. Besides the United States (+16%), Japan (+2%) and South Korea (+8%), the show organizers also mentioned another rise in Turkish attendance (+11.8%), "now a key player in the textile sector."

Indigo, the show for textile patterns and design, brought in 14,820 visitors, a more modest increase of 5% compared to the 17% rise last year. During this first edition as a neighbor to Expofil, 74% of Indigo's buyers came from abroad.

The United Kingdom led attendance among foreign countries, with an increase of 12%, followed by Belgium (+22%), Germany (+8%) and Switzerland (+60%). Italy stabilized this year compared to its strong growth last year with an increase of 3%, while Spain (+11%) and Portugal (+31%) also sent more buyers.

Outside Europe, the Chinese doubled their attendance, while the Japanese delegation (-17%) and Brazil (-14%) were both down.

The Modamont show attracted 26,532 visitors for its first edition in Hall 4. Swapping places with Cuir à Paris, this show for findings and accessories reached a new record after its 22,344 visitors last year. The session also suffered a 2.6% decline in the number of French visitors, many small businesses and independent designers choosing not to attend.

However, Modamont did increase its number of visitors from abroad by 33.5%, bringing foreign representation to 66.5% overall. In Europe, the United Kingdom (+35%) and Germany (+17.8%) brought in the largest groups. American attendance doubled to over a thousand professionals, while Turkey increased by 60% with 760 visitors. Not to mention China, which grew 121% with 918 professionals, while South Korea and Japan also posted strong gains.

Another strong point in this fall event at the Bercy exhibition grounds was Cuir à Paris, which drew 17,000 buyers. This represents an increase of 21.5% for the leather and fur show. Attendees from Europe were up 22%, while outside Europe the increase was 16.5%. Walking the aisles were 80% Europeans, led by the French (20.5%) and Italy (17%). Northern Europe was very active through the Dutch (+47%) and British (+27%), while the American turnout was significantly higher.

The organizers also reported an increase of 17.8% in the number of visitors from Asia, led by the most energetic buyer groups from China, South Korea and Taiwan.

Recently acquired by Première Vision SA, Zoom by Fatex also increased its attendance, drawing 8,166 professionals (+18%). The show for apparel manufacturing formerly owned by Eurovet built upon its 3.6% increase from last year. At this session, international guests accounted for 55% of the total turnout, which looks to be on the rise.

The organizer said there was an increase of buyers from the U.S. and Eastern European, as well as from Spain and Italy, despite their difficult national economies.

As for China and North Korea, they caused a "dramatic spike" for this edition, while attendance from Brazil, Argentina and Russia continued to grow. Such figures "confirm the interest of these countries in Made in Europe.”

The next edition of Première Vision Pluriel will take place February 18–20 at the Parc des Expositions in Villepinte, north of Paris.
