A Cold Wall links with Beats for limited edition collab

Published
Oct 12, 2021

Samuel Ross’s A Cold Wall has linked up with Beats on a headphone collab with the launch of Beats Studio3 Wireless in ACW Concrete.

A Cold Wall x Beats

Launching on October 15, shoppers are being invited to pre-register their interest in what’s likely be an in-demand collab. The product will retail at £300/$350 and will be available on the A Cold Wall website first. After that, on October 18, it will roll out to retailers such as Apple (which owns the Beats brand), SSense, Saks Fifth Avenue, Notre, Ntwrk, End Clothing and Selfridges.

Featuring a “utilitarian slate-and-chalk colour palette with a grid pattern, a black stripe runs down each side of the headphone, and the ACW logo is printed on the sidearms, inner arm and on the headphone case”, we’re told.

Ross said the focus on the product collab “was to convey a universal material language that is both sensitive and recognisable to all, ensuring a minimalistic sensibility carried through the process.

“Building a literal link between environment, inspiration, material and function enabled us to project shared, hyper local, hyper global influences as a keystone for a universal community. By this I mean through the cinematography, the shifting of environments and location — the catalyst of music playing a major role in transporting a listener, or transforming a physical environment”.

The packaging for the headphones incorporates a similar colour palette to the product itself and is constructed from recycled wood fibre that’s either recycled or sourced from responsibly managed forests.

The accompanying campaign focuses on rapper/singer Lil Durk and his evolving relationship with his hometown of Chicago. It “showcases the impact that our environments have on us, as well as music’s ability to expand our perspective beyond where we live”.
