Just one year after the death of the designer, Alain Chamfort plans to put on a musical comedy about Yves Saint Laurent. He has already composed the music.

It’s Pierre-Dominique Burgaud, winner of a “Globe de Cristal” for ‘Le Soldat Rose’, who is the source of the project. He has written the dialogue and Alain Chamfort the music and songs.

The future musical will consist of sixteen songs which will tell the story of a young boy born in Oran who dreamed of a Parisian life from a very young age. From his beginnings at Dior, to the invention of the tuxedo and on to his excesses, Marrakesh and depression, the production promises to be interesting at the least.

A combination of dance, videos, catwalks and of course, songs, there still remains the task of finding a suitable venue for the show. A venue worthy of the impeccable style of Yves Saint Laurent.
