Vans launches multiple footwear capsules targeting global market

Vans is showing off its new collaborative design and marketing strategy with footwear capsules launching in collaboration with both Neek Lurk's Anti Social Social Club (ASSC) and also with Patta


The ASSC capsule launches today and takes Vans styles the Authentic and the Vault Sk8-Hi into ASSC's pastel colored territory with their signature wavy font.

ASSC x Vans shows the iconic laced Vans styles in black and white capped off with a subtle pink tooling system. Details include embossed "Get Weird" typography on the heel counter as well as "expect the unexpected" text heavy lettering on the laces. The shoes also feature contrast pink stitching.

This is ASSC's second collaboration in the month. ASSC recently collaborated with Bape for an apparel capsule.

Vans is also collaborating with Amsterdam's Patta for a "Mean Eyed Cat" capsule that launches Monday. Vans will be offering a shoe to Patta customers that clearly was designed by the same team as the ASSC capsule.

While the branding is true to Patta, design features are almost a carbon copy of the ASSC launch. The Patta x Vans collection features a cobranded detail on the heel counter as well as text-heavy laces.

The Patta, however, is a different base shoe model from ASSC's and features suede and canvas construction with leather details, but the design concept is strikingly similar.

The ASSC x Vans collaboration launches globally today exclusively through the Dover Street Market. The Patta collaboration launches exclusively in Patta flagship locations in Amsterdam and London tomorrow. It will have a global launch online on Monday.
