UK football club Manchester United in True Religion collaboration

Published
Oct 22, 2018

Football club collaborations are breaking out all over the place and hot on the heels of the Paris Saint Germain-Jordan link-up that was announced a few weeks ago, big-name UK club Manchester United is launching a denim line in a deal with True Religion.

True Religion/Manchester United

It's a growing trend as football clubs realise that the strength of their globally recognised brand names can sell more than just sports shoes and sports shirts. Today's consumers are happy to wear a variety of products carrying the names of the biggest clubs, with the items they're wearing having no obvious connection to sports.

The deal is a first for Manchester United and will result in both menswear and womenswear with items set to go on sale from this Friday.

The co-banded pieces include jeans, shirts and jackets, with a limited edition denim jacket embroidered with the club’s crest that will be available at the Man U Megastore and via its United Direct e-store, as well as at True Religion’s webstores.

And there will be more to come with a junior range coming later this season as both parties focus on the lucrative young consumer market too.

Manchester United’s group MD Richard Arnold said the range creates “a new way for our fans to express their support for their club through everyday, easy-to-wear apparel.”
