Supergroup PLC, the parent company of British fashion brand Superdry, has taken over control of the wholesale activities in the Netherlands from Dutch wholesale company and former partner Portare. The restructure has been effective since early January.

From 2009 until now, Portare has been responsible for launching Superdry on the Dutch market. Portare will remain the British brand’s master franchiser of the existing and upcoming Superdry stores in the country, according to various media reports.

In addition, Superdry has appointed Ronald Kempke as country manager for the Netherlands. He will be responsible for leading the further expansion of Superdry on the Dutch market. Kempe joins Superdry from Garcia Jeanswear.

Superdry opened its first Dutch store in 2010. The brand currently operates about 11 brand stores across the country. In the summer of 2017 Portare opened two Superdry branches in the Dutch cities of Enschede and Groningen. In addition to Superdry, Portare has also been responsible for the wholesale of Woolrich and Baracute in the Netherlands.
