United Colors of Benetton has commissioned to Roman designer Stella Jean the creation of an exclusive capsule collection for the next winter season, focusing on two of the fashion label's mainstays: knitwear and colours. In recent years, Stella Jean has emerged as one of the fashion world's most innovative designers worldwide. This is the first time the Italian brand is collaborating with a designer.

The capsule collection will apply Stella Jean's typically joyful, global vision to Benetton knitwear. The designer is fond of blending Italian style with the textile tradition of developing countries. The collection will be exclusively dedicated to women and will include a set of accessories.

Community engagement and an awareness of women's potential are crucial elements in the collaboration between Benetton and Stella Jean. While the designer has always worked with local communities in developing countries, in October 2015 the Benetton group launched the Women Empowerment Program, a long-term sustainability programme aimed at supporting the emancipation and empowerment of women worldwide.

The capsule collection will be available in early December 2016 at selected United Colors of Benetton stores and online at benetton.com.
