Soul Salon appoints Martijn van de Veen as Managing Director

Dutch trade show Soul Salon has appointed Martijn van de Veen as its new Managing Director.

As Managing Director Van de Veen will be responsible for the commercial expansion of the trade show as well as the operational management of the team. Additionally, Van de Veen will be in charge of shaping the 'Future Trends' section of the trade show.

Van de Veen joins Soul Salon from International Student Identity Card (ISIC), where he was the global director, as well as co-founder of ISIC Japan.

Cécile Scheele, founder and creative director Soul Salon, said: “With the international management experience of Van de Veen, I am convinced that we can accelerate the further growth of Soul Salon and realize our ambition to become a leading trade show in Europe in the short term.”

In addition to the appointment of Van de Veen, Soul Salon has added a new Sales & Marketing Manager to the team, Lisa Kuyp. Kuyp previously studied International Communication and Media at Hogeschool Utrecht.

Soul Salon focuses on future trends and is designed to offer retailers inspiration regarding current developments in the fashion and retail market. The trade show takes place twice a year, in January and July. The event debuted in July 2017. Soul Salon is organized by Powering Sustainable Fashion, initiator of Dutch Sustainable Fashion Week and Dutch Retail Experience Awards, and owner of web platform InspiringStories.nl, agency Goodbrandz and consultancy MSL Fashion Forward.
