Skechers has selected The Boulevard outlet centre in Banbridge for its 18th store in Ireland, where it operates under a retail licensing agreement with footwear retailer Shuz 4 U Group.

The trainer brand, whose global advertising campaigns feature high profile celebrities including Camila Cabello, Kelly Brook and golfer Colin Montgomerie, will open a 229-square-metre store at the outlet mall on 2 August.

The opening will involve a £250,000 investment by Skechers, which is joining other recently opened footwear stores such as Clarks Shoes, Adidas, Asics and Kurt Geiger at the shopping destination. Its signing marks an important step for The Boulevard, cementing its position as Northern Ireland’s premier outlet shopping centre.

Chris Nelmes, centre manager of The Boulevard, commented: “We are delighted that Skechers has chosen The Boulevard for its latest store opening and it is an exciting addition to the retail mix. Now is a great time to visit The Boulevard with our £7 million rebrand underway and a run of new store openings. We have seen a 25% year on year increase in turnover and we hope this will continue with Skechers attracting new customers.”

Skechers Ireland Area Manager, Aleksandra Prokopowicz said: “We are joining The Boulevard at an exciting time.  The retail mix at the centre is a perfect complement to the Skechers range and we look forward to welcoming customers to our new store in August.”

The outlet mall has made good progress over the last 18 months, attracting a high number of new top tenants and seeing an increase in repeat customer visits.
