Asian talent will go under the spotlight debuting SFW’s union with Digital Fashion Week, an initiative aimed to amplify and amplify the local and international reach of SFW content. DFW was formerly a designer showcase with an emphasis on online and social media and its acquisition will mean a shift towards a larger digital presence for SFW.

Also new this year is an industry-support platform titled Singapore Fashion Week Access. Created in response to industry feedback, SFWA will provide designers with flexible formats to exhibit their collections.

Additionally, the National Gallery Singapore will be joining The October edition as Official Event Partner. The visual institution will open its doors as a venue for the shows, allowing 400 guests to sit in the front row.

“The beautifully restored public spaces of the Gallery will lend an aura of grandeur and provide an exciting backdrop for the shows, creating an immersive experience for all,” said Mr Kola Luu of the National Gallery Singapore.

The venue will see a fresh new format to the shows with a curved runway, moving away from conventional theatre-style seating to provide an exciting new guest experience.

In the six months leading to the event, SFW will lead a number of activities and events to generate more engagement. Activities will include various fashion and industry-related events made accessible to public.

The event organised by Mercury Marketing & Communications will also launch a Patrons Programme this June, giving members of the public the opportunity to actively engage with SFW and support designers.
