Red Wing Heritage is set to open in Berlin the first ever store for its women’s collection. The US brand from Minnesota launched the women’s footwear range last year.

The store in the Scheunenviertel neighbourhood in central Berlin is planned to open in October. In addition to selling own-brand women’s shoes and boots, the store will offer products from other retailers. The brand has also a men’s store on Berlin’s Münzstrasse.

With 14 stores worldwide, including 9 in Europe and a recently launched shop in Stockholm, the label gears up to introduce the new women’s footwear collection. The Berlin opening marks an important milestone for the 110-year old company, it said in a release.

Allison Gettings and designer Gaal Levine, who designed the women’s collection last year, talk about the women’s collection as a project that is “very dear” to their hearts. Gettings is a member of the founding family and serves as Director of Product, both for the women’s and men’s collections.

The new Berlin store will be run by Kay Knipschild, who as business partner and owner also manages Red Wing Heritage stores in Hamburg and Munich.
