Primark to open its biggest store worldwide in December

Primark is planning to open a five-level, 160,000 sq ft megastore at Birmingham Pavilions. The store will be the brand’s largest in the world and employ almost 900 people.

The value fashion and homeware retailer will stock the store with its extensive women’s, men’s and children’s fashions, including footwear, accessories, lingerie, beauty and homeware.

Around 430 staff will be transferred from the company’s current Birmingham store in New Street when it closes ahead of the new opening.

“The new Primark in Birmingham will be the largest in the world, offering an even wider range of our amazing fashion at amazing prices, over five floors. We have a loyal customer base in Birmingham and are very excited to unveil the new store, which will be almost four times the size of our current city centre store,” said a spokesperson for Primark. 

The store will feature free Wi-Fi, phone-charging sports and seating areas.

Primark acquired the site in 2014 and plans to open the new store in December this year.
