PostNL launches Viktor & Rolf stamp

Dutch postal service, PostNL, presented its latest stamp collection, sketches designed by Viktor & Rolf. The stamp collection is in celebration of the designer duo’s 25th anniversary.

The stamps, which are sold in sets of 10 for €7.80, reference sketches that formed the basis of recent collections: wedding and evening dresses; footwear; an eye; the V&R logo and a flower are all portrayed on the special stamp edition.

“We believe that the drawings should have a loose character. Doodles, sketches without a clear purpose. The stamp sheet looks spontaneous, sparkling and a little messy. We were given the freedom to eschew the serious character of a stamp. By using ink stains, every stamp looks the same as our original sketch sheets,” said Viktor Horsting and Rolf Snoeren, who selected the sketches themselves.

The Viktor & Rolf stamp is part of PostNL’s Art and Culture collection, which last year issued a Doutzen Kroes stamp, photographed by Anton Corbijn. The V&R stamp is available from 11 September at Bruna and PostNL’s collector’s club.
