Lingerie retailer for “big boobed women,” Bravissimo, hit a milestone in the last year financial as its revenue passed the £50 million mark.

Increasing by 2.3% to £50.2 million, the revenue growth was driven by the company’s expanding store portfolio and strong e-commerce sales. Gross profits for the financial year ended 31 October were relatively similar at 56.5%, compared with 57.3% in 2015.

According to accounts submitted to Companies House, profit before tax was £2.2 million, down from £3.3 million a year earlier, bringing retained earnings of £14.4m. The directors approved a £500,000 dividend during the year.

Bravissimo, which sells lingerie, swimwear and a range of clothing basics for women who are D-L cup, dismissed the current exchange rate fluctuations as a potential risk for the business as it said it sells and purchases predominantly in pounds.

The company identified a commodity price risk in relation to bought-in goods, but said its UK rivals will be subject to the same risk and market retail values can be adjusted to give negligible gross profit impact.

“The accounts reflect that is well positioned to continue its delivery of its core business strategies, continually improve its management and systems infrastructure to ensure control, improve its customer service implementation and delivery of future growth plans,” said the report.

Bravissimo has approximately 28 stores across the UK in cities like Cambridge, London, Leeds, Leicester, Edinburgh, Belfast, Manchester, Solihull and Glasgow.

The company had 364 employees at year end.
