Goddard, who is one of LFW’s most successful up-and-coming designers, is also big on Instagram, Iconosquare said after measuring the follower count and growth rate of designers exhibiting at LFW’s  Designer Showrooms. This is the event’s official edit of the most interesting designers and brands deserving of more exposure.

Topping the list are young British female womenswear designers Goddard, whose designs have gained extra publicity after being worn by Rihanna and Agyness Deyn, and Ashley Williams. And as interest in LFW mounts, Goddard’s 30-day follower change is up almost 4% to nearly 90,000. Williams has over 60,000 followers and in third place comes milliner Stephen Jones wirh nearly 47,000.

He can hardly be described as up and coming, having been an instantly recognisable, albeit niche, name since the 1980s. But the rest of the top 10 includes less well-known names such as Dorateymur, GFG Jewellery, Laurie Lee Leather, Robert Wun, Shimell and Madden, Richard Malone, and J.Won.

These designers are competing on Instagram with many of the more established brands exhibiting at LFW. But Goddard and Williams manage to outstrip Aspinal of London’s 56,000 followers, even though they’re yet to reach the heights of House of Holland’s 100,000 followers or Julien MacDonald’s 119,000.

Iconosquare CEO Romain Ouzeau said: “London Fashion Week is one of the most important events in the calendar for the UK fashion industry, especially for the smaller and younger designers which often exhibit in the Showrooms.

“A strong Instagram presence is a must-have for any ambitious designer or fashion brand. These designers have proven themselves capable of creating their own social momentum and buzz, and stand primed and ready to make the most out of London Fashion Week this year.”
