Models to stage fashion show for flood victims

LONDON, Sept 10, 2007 (AFP) - Supermodel Naomi Campbell said Monday, September 10th she would stage a fashion show to help the victims of deadly floods in Britain earlier this year.

The 37-year-old Briton has teamed up with the fellow models Elle MacPherson, Yasmin Le Bon and Jodie Kidd for the "Fashion for Relief" event, to help those affected by floods which left seven people dead over the summer.

"We wanted to do something to help all those affected by the terrible UK floods, our way ... As a British model, in my home town in London, I am honoured to be able to put on and be involved in this kind of show."

The show, organised with the Rotary Club of Great Britain, will take place at the Natural History Museum in London on September 20, at the end of London Fashion Week.

British designers Vivienne Westwood and Alexander McQueen have also been invited to take part. The damage caused by the floods that devastated Oxfordshire and Yorkshire is estimated at three billion pounds.
