After announcing a majority stake in British footwear label Nicholas Kirkwood, the French luxury conglomerate is reported to have taken interest in young Italian designer Marco De Vincenzo. Sources close to the brand say that the group has invested in the young Roman designer.

Graduated from the Istituto Europeo di Design in Rome, the Sicilian designer launched his own line of womenswear in 2009 whilst working as an assistant designer to Silvia Fendi Venturini at Fendi.

Coincidentally, Pietro Beccari, CEO of LVNM-owned Fendi, was present at the designer’s show on Sunday in Milan. Passionate about technology, the designer’s spring-summer 2014 collection focused heavily on modern materials.

More than ever, LVMH head Bernard Arnault seems to be chasing after young emergent talent. According to the latest rumours, the group has reportedly been in discussions to invest in British fashion’s darling, J.W. Anderson.
