Global leader in consumer goods design, development, sourcing and logistics, Li & Fung has joined the Foreign Trade Association (FTA) as its latest member.

As part of FTA’s Sustainability services, Li & Fung has selected its International Trade Policy services and has also become a participant of the Business Social Compliance Initiative (BSCI).

“Li & Fung is committed to responsible sourcing and to its engagement with BSCI, whose benefits include, social audits of the supply chain, training activities and dialogue with stakeholders,” FTA said.

“Li & Fung also supports, accepts and shares audit reporting with other BSCI participants to avoid duplication of audits,” the body added.

FTA has a membership of more than 1,800 businesses who are committed towards more sustainable trade and demonstrate trust in FTA, to prepare businesses for the challenges of the future.

Rick Darling, head of government and public affairs at Li & Fung said, “With the proliferation of trade agreements and new sustainability regulations, keeping on top of these important issues remains a continued challenge.”

“FTA will help us maintain our knowledge base in the EU and ensure we stay ahead of the market as it evolves,” he too added.
