La Camera della Moda Italiana (the Italian National Fashion Chamber) has added to its top management team by appointing a new general manager, a key post which had been vacant for three years. The choice fell on Stefania Vismara, a manager specialised in marketing and communications.

Stefania Vismara - CNMI

"This choice is part of a project aimed at strengthening CNMI's organisation in view of its expansion plans, at a favourable time in which Milan and the Italian fashion industry in general are attracting a great deal of interest," wrote CNMI, the Italian fashion industry's foremost institution, in a press release.

The idea is to add weight to CNMI's organisation and enhance its ability to attract sponsors, in order to be even more effective in its promotion of Italian fashion. Stefania Vismara will work alongside CNMI President Carlo Capasa. She succeeds Giulia Pirovano, who left CNMI in January 2015, after working for 15 years at the institution, and is now at the Istituto Marangoni fashion academy in Milan.

Stefania Vismara spent the greater part of her career with media groups, especially Condé Nast Italia, publisher of Vogue Italia, which she joined in 2006 and where she worked in a variety of senior executive roles, including marketing, communications and business development.

Vismara has a Political Science degree from Milan University and is well versed in fashion, since she started her communications career at Moschino's press office.
