July 29 (Reuters) - Apparel maker Hartmarx Corp's HTMX.PK sale to private equity firm Emerisque could fall through, the New York Post said, citing sources.

The deal, originally set to close on July 7, has run into trouble over costs related to closing the acquisition, the paper said.

The companies' advisers are debating who will pay the costs to wind down assets that aren't part of the final deal, sources told the daily.

Chicago-based Hartmarx, which has made suits for President Barack Obama, filed for bankruptcy in January, and a U.S. bankruptcy judge in Chicago approved its sale to Emerisque and SKNL North America for about $119 million in June.

Hatmarx and Emerisque were not immediately available for comment. (Reporting by Nivedita Bhattacharjee in Bangalore)
