Giorgio Armani invites Ricostru to show at his theatre

After Miao Ran in June, Giorgio Armani will host another young Chinese design talent. The couturier has confirmed his engagement in favour of young creativity, by allowing an emerging designer to show at the Armani/Teatro theatre during the Milan Fashion Week, for the fourteenth consecutive season.

Rico Manchit Au, founder of the Ricostru label

From 21st to 26th September, at the next womenswear fashion week, it will be the turn of Ricostru, the label created by Chinese designer Rico Manchit Au, to appear under the Milanese theatre's spotlight.

The young designer went back to Guangzhou, China, after graduating at Milan's Istituto Marangoni, and founded her women's ready-to-wear label with a design collective. Ricostru is distinctive for its minimalist style, and features a comfy, basic-chic wardrobe with neat lines and luxury fabrics inspired by nature.

The word 'Ricostru' comes from the Italian "ricostruzione", meaning 'reconstruction'. The label offers a new take on traditional style, blending artisanal expertise with new technology. The brand is distributed notably in China, where it operates its own stores in Shanghai and Beijing.
