CAIRO (Reuters) - The Alexandria Cotton Exporters' Association (Alcotexa) said on Sunday 26 July it had committed to sell 455 tonnes of cotton in the week that ended on July 25.

The sales comprised 100 tonnes of Giza 88, 150 tonnes of Giza 70 and 205 tonnes of Giza 86, an official from Alcotexa told Reuters.

The new commitment brings Alcotexa's export commitments for the 2008/2009 season, which began in September, to 23,062 tonnes of cotton worth $58.57 million, the official said.
