Betabrand and Vivobarefoot launch new shoe collection

Betabrand has announced a new footwear collaboration to fund London-based Vivobarefoot shoes on its crowdfunding platform.

Chris Lindland, Founder and CEO of Betabrand said of Vivobarefoot, "they've welcomed fans into their creative process, thereby creating some of our most popular projects yet. Thousands of people have voted and provided feedback so thousands more can purchase crowd-designed footwear."

San Francisco-based Betabrand is the leading crowdfunding clothing platform for independent designers and major brands. Designs are shared daily as consumers can vote and help fund the production of the future clothing.

Betabrand works with both small and well-known designers offering a dialogue and community development for the brands. Some of Betabrand's top sellers include dress yoga pants that are cut to look and be worn like work pants, and executive hoodies.

Vivobarefoot co-founder Asher Clark, spoke of the partnership with Betabrand, saying "Because there is no point in having a pair of stretchy walk to work, disco yoga pants if you don't have the shoes to match."

The first shoe to fund and launch on Betabrand is the City Sock which retails for $91. It is 100-percent vegan and features an ergonomic flex-mesh body, a highly breathable foot bed, their patented ultra-thin, puncture-resistant sole, and reflective details for "nighttime excursions."

As with other Betabrand projects, customers can save money if they order in early stages of funding and development. After the City Sock, Vivobarefoot has plans to fund and launch two other styles in partnership with Betabrand, the City Proof and the Yoga Flat.
