Barcelona Bridal Fashion Week is gearing up for a new edition. The bridal trade show has announced a new strategy, designed to attract buyers from Europe and the US, and strengthen its presence in the Latin American and Asian markets.

The event will be returning to Fira de Barcelona’s Gran Via exhibition centre on 27-30 April 2017 to showcase the latest trends in bridal fashion, as well as occasionwear, ceremonial and communion dresses, and accessories.

As part of a drive to gain international relevance, the bridal trade fair is also negotiating the participation of an internationally-renowned guest designer, who will be sharing the catwalk with over 20 bridal brands.

According to the organisers, the US, Brazil, Argentina, Peru and Colombia will be the largest bridal and wedding markets in the world by 2020. Mexico shows the biggest growth potential with forecast CAGR of 3.6%, followed by the US with 3.5%.

Organised by Fira de Barcelona, Barcelona Bridal Fashion Week is the leading event on the European calendar in its specialist area and has a leading market position to present the collections of leading bridal brands.

The showcase is also the only European event dedicated to bridal fashion to host fashion shows and feature a business area where brands, buyers and key industry insiders can meet and talk business.

In the past three years, the number of brands and buyers visiting the show has increased by 13%, reaching 18,000 visitors and 650 buyers from 40 countries, including Germany, the US, the UK, France and Italy.
